Originally chartered in 1910 as The Peoples National Bank of Belleville, the bank
changed its national charter to a state charter in 1995 to become The Peoples Bank. On August
1, 1998, The Peoples Bank of Belleville, Kansas merged with
The Exchange Bank of Clyde, Kansas to form Peoples Exchange Bank with locations in Belleville and Clyde. This merger brought together a combined 200 year
tradition of quality, personal service as well as adding value to banking relationships
through increased financial strength and updated products, services, and technology.
In May of 1999, Peoples Exchange Bank became a three-bank
family by opening a full-service branch in Concordia, Kansas.
